Background

The hallmark of Coldwell Banker Best Realty, has always been the quality of its sales force and staff. Kathy Vejtasa, co-owner and general manager attended Marymount and St. Anthony’s High School, graduating in 1961. She received her BA from Long Beach State College in 1965, while working at Knott’s Berry Farm. That same year she married Gene Vejtasa, then an officer in the Marine Corps and then a teacher at Burroughs High School. After Gene left the Marine Corps, Kathy attended the University of California at Irvine, earning both elementary and secondary Standard Teaching Credentials. For nine years she taught school, first in Mission Viejo and then in Ridgecrest, during which time she wrote the Basic School Curriculum and the Basic School Language Handbook.

Real Estate Career

1979: Entered real estate in late summer.

1980,1981,1982: ERA BEST REALTY Top Producing Associate.

1981: Designated one of top 50 ERA associates in the nation.

1988: Speaker at the first annual Business Outlook Conference.

1989: Earned CRB designation, Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager.

1997: Voted Realtor of the Year by Desert Empire Board of Realtors.

Multiple Years: Chaired “Tee Off for Ridgecrest” golf tournament.

1999: Speaker at Business Outlook Conference.

1996 to 2004: Executive Board, IWV 2000.
Wrote two marketing brochures positioning Ridgecrest as “ Center of Influence in the Eastern Sierra High Desert.”
